On Saturday, I slept in longer than usual. Ever since the steamy encounter with Spencer on Wednesday, I’d had amazing dreams. I never quite could recall what they’d been about once I woke, but I was sure they’d featured him. And I was sure they’d been good dreams, given I often awoke with my thighs squeezed together and a pleasurable flush across my skin.

That delicious feeling faded as I worked on lesson plans for the coming weeks. Since it was my first time teaching second grade, I had to spend a lot of time tweaking the curriculum to make it as interesting as possible for my students.

I was just about ready to go find something for lunch when Gabi knocked at my door. “We were about to eat. Want to join us?”

“Sure.”

I followed her to the kitchen and was surprised to see Sierra and Liz there as well. “Nobody has any Saturday plans, either?”

Usually, at least one or more of them were doing exciting things with their boyfriends, or so it always seemed to me.

Sierra and Liz exchanged a glance. “You’re our Saturday plan.”

Uh-oh. I didn’t know what that meant, but it didn’t sound good.

“Sit,” Gabi said. “I made sandwiches, and Liz made a salad.”

“And me, being a thoughtful and considerate roommate, left all the food prep to them,” Sierra concluded.

That was considerate, since she was a horrible cook. She did, however, get drinks for everyone while Liz and Gabi set out the food.

Soon, we all had a bowl of salad and a sandwich in front of us, but no one ate. All three stared at me instead.

“What?”

“Spill,” Sierra said.

Confused, I looked at my glass of iced tea.

“Spill the details,” she clarified.

“What details?” My voice was unconvincing even to my own ears.

Gabi reached over and patted my shoulder. “Maggie, you’ve been blushing for two days. Tell us what happened.”

“If you want to,” Liz added. However, she seemed to be the only one of the three with that attitude.

“There’s really not much to tell,” I began. And it was kind of true. Compared to what they must do with their hot-as-hell boyfriends, it didn’t add up to much. We hadn’t even taken our clothes off. But still—I’d never done anything quite like that before.

“The heat from your face is making my salad wilt,” Gabi commented.

Dammit. When the hell were scientists going to come up with a cure for blushing?

“You got home from work late the other night,” Sierra said. “Did you go out with the single dad?”

We went outside. Did that count as going out? “N-no. Not really.”

“But you saw Spencer, right?” Gabi asked.

“Yeah. But sort of by accident.”

“How do you accidentally see a man?” Liz asked.

“I accidentally saw Ian naked once,” Gabi said.

My jaw dropped as I whipped my head around. “You did?”

“Yep,” Gabi said, looking smug. “He and Sierra were taking a shower together, but I thought it was just her, and I really needed to get my medicine, so I barged in and… let me just say, Sierra’s a very lucky woman.
