On Saturday, I slept in longer than usual. Ever since the steamy encounter with Spencer on Wednesday, Iâd had amazing dreams. I never quite could recall what theyâd been about once I woke, but I was sure theyâd featured him. And I was sure theyâd been good dreams, given I often awoke with my thighs squeezed together and a pleasurable flush across my skin.
That delicious feeling faded as I worked on lesson plans for the coming weeks. Since it was my first time teaching second grade, I had to spend a lot of time tweaking the curriculum to make it as interesting as possible for my students.
I was just about ready to go find something for lunch when Gabi knocked at my door. âWe were about to eat. Want to join us?â
âSure.â
I followed her to the kitchen and was surprised to see Sierra and Liz there as well. âNobody has any Saturday plans, either?â
Usually, at least one or more of them were doing exciting things with their boyfriends, or so it always seemed to me.
Sierra and Liz exchanged a glance. âYouâre our Saturday plan.â
Uh-oh. I didnât know what that meant, but it didnât sound good.
âSit,â Gabi said. âI made sandwiches, and Liz made a salad.â
âAnd me, being a thoughtful and considerate roommate, left all the food prep to them,â Sierra concluded.
That was considerate, since she was a horrible cook. She did, however, get drinks for everyone while Liz and Gabi set out the food.
Soon, we all had a bowl of salad and a sandwich in front of us, but no one ate. All three stared at me instead.
âWhat?â
âSpill,â Sierra said.
Confused, I looked at my glass of iced tea.
âSpill the details,â she clarified.
âWhat details?â My voice was unconvincing even to my own ears.
Gabi reached over and patted my shoulder. âMaggie, youâve been blushing for two days. Tell us what happened.â
âIf you want to,â Liz added. However, she seemed to be the only one of the three with that attitude.
âThereâs really not much to tell,â I began. And it was kind of true. Compared to what they must do with their hot-as-hell boyfriends, it didnât add up to much. We hadnât even taken our clothes off. But stillâIâd never done anything quite like that before.
âThe heat from your face is making my salad wilt,â Gabi commented.
Dammit. When the hell were scientists going to come up with a cure for blushing?
âYou got home from work late the other night,â Sierra said. âDid you go out with the single dad?â
We went outside. Did that count as going out? âN-no. Not really.â
âBut you saw Spencer, right?â Gabi asked.
âYeah. But sort of by accident.â
âHow do you accidentally see a man?â Liz asked.
âI accidentally saw Ian naked once,â Gabi said.
My jaw dropped as I whipped my head around. âYou did?â
âYep,â Gabi said, looking smug. âHe and Sierra were taking a shower together, but I thought it was just her, and I really needed to get my medicine, so I barged in and⦠let me just say, Sierraâs a very lucky woman.
